My Mini Birthday Celebrations With My Loved Ones!

We had a mini birthday celebrations for me, Ah Qi, with our family members last Sunday! LOL!

Mimi told me about my birthday celebrations about 1-2 weeks ago. I was so excited and kept asking Mimi with questions such as: “Who is coming?”, “Can I have Dora cake?”, “Are you buying balloons?” etc.

Papa and Mimi decided to order a mini buffet from a caterer instead this year. It even comes with almond jelly dessert; Papa’s favourite! Ah Gong, Ah Ma, Ah Yi and others gave encouraging feedback on the food. It is healthy and less oily compared to KFC, pizza and MacDonald that we had last year.

Do I look pretty in my new “Poko Dots” Zara dress? Mimi was also in “Poko Dots” top! After Papa came out from the shower room, I actually asked Papa: “Where is your “Poko Dots”?” Hehe… But Papa has no “Poko Dots”!

Surprise of the day! Mimi ordered helium balloons for me! They are my favourites especially the little dog! I saw it a few times in the retail shop but we did not get it. It’s so adorable! Even my Popo likes it a lot and requested Mimi to get one for her.

Mimi’s favourite; the STAR! Mimi said that I am always the shinning star who light up Papa and her life! :) Many thanks to Kelvin Shushu for helping me to collect it.

Many thanks to Ah Gong, Ah Ma, Gong Gong, Popo, Bee Nah Ah Yi, Angela Ah Yi and Raymond Jiujiu for their big Ang Bao. Not forgetting Irene Gugu for her 15 nice "USBorne series" story books!, Kelvin & Danny Shushu for the new ice-cream PlayDoh set! Cool! I was busy playing with it and refused to go for shower in the evening. Also Marcus Gorgor for his lovely snack! Most importantly, all of us had gathered together and had fun!

I had a Pooh Bear series cake from Swensens this year! Yummy… I had the first slice of cake and I really love it! Cool…Macadamia and Cookies & Cream!

I miss Xuan Jie and Kai (aka Ah Beng) during the party. They could not attend my party because Gugu and Gu-chang were sick. It’s okie! I will meet Xuan jie on my Birthday @Thursday. We are going to Kids’ E-Explorer! Ah Dan Shushu cannot attend it too because he was down with work commitments. He brought me to MacDonald for my favourite Happy Meal last week. Hehe…

Qi has a simple wish; Wishing everyone in our family be blessed with good health and happiness!

Mimi said that I looked shy when we were singing the Birthday song! I was definitely very happy! Where was Xuan jie? You helped me to blow my candles together over the past 2 years! LOL!

Princess Qiqi!

Mimi had a plan to “curl” my hair to doll me up as a little princess for the mini Birthday celebrations. Papa and Mimi told that I will always be their princess even when I am 50 years old!

Mimi : Qi, do you want to look pretty like a princess?
Qi : Yes!
Mimi : Mimi has to “curl” your hair so that you will look like a princess.
Qi : OK!
Mimi : Really? (Mimi giggling)

I was a good girl, sat down patiently for about 45 minutes while Mimi “curl” up my hair.

Do you think I look like a little princess? LOL! :)

Happy girl!

60 Minute Buffet!

We went to a newly open Japanese restaurant, “Let’s Sweets” @ Bugis Junction. It has an interesting concept; a 60 minute buffet that has a spread of Japanese pizza, pasta and pastries. The clock starts clicking down from 50 minutes, the moment we are ready to get our food. When the 50 minutes is up, the clock will “ring ring”! Hehe.. We will have another 10 minutes before we have to stop the buffet. We do not need to pay for my share because I am slightly above 90cm. Toddlers above 90cm has to pay for child's buffet. Hehe…

Verdict: Papa and Mimi found that, contrary to expectations, 60minutes were “just nice” to try the selection of food. The food was of good standard though some dishes such as the pizza, soup, spaghetti could be better. It is also reasonably priced at about $19nett per person for a weekend lunch. However, Mimi lamented that she will not try it again because it was “stressful” to eat with a time constraint. LOL!

Ready! Here we go…

Let me try the corn pizza first!

My favourite… fondue time!

Crepe Time!

Awesome especially with the vanilla ice-cream!

Mummy Cooks!

My mummy cooks dinner for about 3-4 evenings during the week days. She prepares simple and nice dishes after she reached home from a long day at work. She will also try to cook on weekend if it is feasible.

Though it involves more work and is more expensive to prepare home cooked food, Mimi still insists to cook. This is because Mimi home cooked food is healthy and taste better (no MSG or natural flavouring). Papa agreed and he told me that he feels fortunate that Mimi is willing to cook and can cook well. If not, he will have a headache, thinking of what to “da-bao” (buy food for meals) and which may not be nice and healthy. The only challenge for Papa; “wash up” the dishes and the weekly trips to the “wet market”. Lazy Papa!

Steamboat Feast @ weekend! Papa said home cooked prepared steamboat is still the best because it uses no MSG and nor has heavily marinated food. Yeah! Mimi managed to master the skills to cook Popo’s signature dish; yummy “meat egg”!

Conversations with Papa and Mimi!

Papa and Mimi enjoy indulging in small talks with me as I approach 3 years old!

Few interesting small talks that I had with Papa and Mimi recently…

Conversation 1: “Healing the bump”
I had a fall recently and hurt my forehead.

Mimi : Qi, can mummy rub a hot egg on your forehead to reduce the swelling?
Qi : NO!
Mimi : Huh! But you have a “blue black bump” on your forehead.
Qi : OK! But let me look in the mirror first.

After looking in the mirror:
Qi : OK! Please rub the egg on my forehead
Qi : Papa carry me ok....then MiMi put egg...
(Papa had to restrain me the night before, during their attempt to rub the egg on my forehead).

Conversation 2: “@School”

Qi : Papa! I want to go Kinderland!
Papa : We are reaching school!

After sitting down at the table with my breakfast,
Qi : Papa! Bye Bye! (Waving my hands)
Qi : Papa, you need to go to work so that I can buy books and toys!
(Papa had told me on a few occasions a few weeks ago when I was trying to assimilate to the new school environment)

Conversation 3: “I want to go to the big indoor playground!”
Qi : Papa, I want to go to the big indoor playground!
Papa : How do we go?
Qi : Drive Papa’s car!
Qi : Can we go?
Papa : OK!
Qi : We must bring our socks to wear before we can go into the playground!

Conversation 4: “Going to the movies!”
Papa : Can Papa and Mimi bring you to Ah Ma’s house? We want to go for movies.
Qi : NO! I want to go!
Papa : Please!
Qi : NO! NO! I don’t want! (Screaming!)
Qi : I want to share pop corns with Mimi!

Conversation 5: “Sharing with Didi”
Papa : Can you help Papa to take diaper for Didi after he is borned?
Qi :Yes! Yes!
Qi : I will share my litle duck with Didi during shower time.
Papa : Do you have Didi?
Qi : Yes, I love Enyu!

Can you see the many kites in the sky?

Taking a break! :P

My First Play @ Arcade Centre

Yeah! Look at the fun that I have at the arcade centre! Papa and Mimi got a stored value card after they decided that I am “old enough” to have some fun @ arcade. Hehe.. Finally after a period of "strolling" in the centre. LOL!

After our visit, I told Papa:

Qi : Papa! Can I come again?
Papa : Yes, we can!
Qi : We must swipe the card before we can play (with a hand action). Hehe..
Papa : Okie!
Qi : I want to play the basketball again!

I want to be a basketball player like Papa when I grow up! See! I was quite good with getting the ball into the basket!

I am Independent Girl @ E-Explorer Fun!

Papa and Mimi were on leave last Monday. They took the opportunity to bring me to “E-Explorer” children indoor playground @ Downtown East! I had a great time and enjoyed it a lot! It is evident in the pictures! Poor Papa… Hehe.. He complained to Mimi that he had a hard time chasing me around the playground; “going up and down, up and down.. up and down”! LOL!

Papa observed that I am more independent and confident now. In one incident, my foot “dropped” into the small hole of the net in the playground. I managed to stand properly again with Papa’s help. However, I refused his help after I was back on my feet. I preferred to take small steps myself. I literally told Papa: “Papa, do not help me! I can do it!” On another occasion, the climb to the next level was steep for my height. However, I made small snuggles to make it to the next level by myself. I was so proud that I turn around and told Papa: “I did it!” Papa was amused and yet happy. Hehe…

Fun moments!

It’s Jumping Time!

I had a great time... literally jumping up and down at kid’s playground @ T3 Airport with Janelle. We were borned in the same year! Our birthday is only 2 weeks apart. :) The mini playground is part of the promotional events for Youth Olympics and it’s free for all! The only thing was that we had to queue up to wait for our turn!

The video tells it all. :)
