My Early Birthday Presents!

We met Caiyun jiejie for dinner at “Bakerzin” @ Tampines 1 last weekend. Caiyun jiejie is one of Papa’s best friends from his primary school days. It’s desert time after dinner! Tried out my favourite waffle ice-cream! Hmm… Qi still prefer Gelare. :P Happy snap of three babes! Thanks a lot Caiyun jiejie for her Pooh Bear and Puzzle cards! Qi likes it a lot. Qi @ action; “opening” (or rather “violently tearing”) my puzzle cards present! I was so engrossed that I ignored Papa’s questions!

Wow… look at my birthday present; jeans, tops and skirts from Aunty Melissa! Do you agree that they are all so sweet? Mimi told me that she loves the designs and the quality materials of the clothes from Marks & Spencer! Many thanks Aunty Melissa! Papa likes the chocolates that you have given to him too!

Qi had a small birthday gathering with our family members yesterday! It was really fun and I was really happy! I will share with all the snaps and action in my next post. I am looking forward to my birthday on 2 Sept’09, this coming Wednesday! Papa and Mimi will be on leave to bring me for a day of fun! Yeah! Cheers… Preparing “goodie pack” for my little cousins and friends in school!
Papa! What? Can’t you see that I am busy packing the “goodie pack”?

Qi Likes the Swing!

One of the favourite things I like to do when I visit my Popo, is to “check out” the swing @ playground! I will shout “Swing Swing” when we walk past the playground. Papa lamented that it is difficult to find playgrounds with swings in new neighbourhood nowadays. Deep in thoughts! :P Here I go!
Qi in action @ “Swing”! Yeah!

My Favourite Activities @ Compass Point

Papa and Mimi will try to bring me at least once during one of the weekday nights to Compass Point for dinner. Let me share with you my favourite activities!

After dinner, I will go and “search” for the "aeroplane" outside SingTel shop and the “drum set” at the arcade centres. I will initiate it by telling Papa: “Aeroplane? Drum?” :P

Giving it a try with game at one of the arcade machine!

One of my favourite words: “No more!” Papa is pretty strict that I will not stay in the arcade centre for more than 10minutes because it is quite noisy.

Look at how focus I am “driving” my car!

My Barney Friends!

One of other favourite activities is to “hang out” at the toy section @ Metro and Kiddy Palace; “fiddle” and “playing” with the many wonderful toys!
I am a good girl! I always make sure I feed the baby with milk @ Metro!

Beach Adventure Again!

Believe it or not! I have been asking Papa and Mimi to bring me to the beach for the past few weeks. It started with Papa asking me: “Qi, do you want to go to the beach?” I never failed to respond enthusiastically with a “BIG YES”! In recent weeks, it was the other way round. I will ask Papa; “Beach?” when I see the beach set in my room. Hehe… Papa and Mimi decided to bring me to the East Coast Park last weekend!

We went to get Mimi’s favourite “Wan Tan Mee” stall from Dunman Food Centre to the beach for dinner. Mimi was really happy because she has not taken it for a long while! I like it too because the noodles was nice (Mimi noticed that I almost finished all the serving that she gave me).

Papa and Mimi could see that I really enjoy myself on the beach. It was really different; I was “less receptive” during my last two visits to the beach. Hmm… maybe I am a BIG girl now! I even “run around” on the beach, threw the “Pong Pong” fruit that I found into the water, helped Papa to make sand castles etc.

I am still pestering Papa by asking; Beach? Hehe...

Pictures tell it all…. It was fun!

Qi's"Washing Hands" Regime

Mimi and Papa constantly remind me to “wash” my hands. Mimi will insist that I wash my hands “immediately” to get rid of bacteria after we stepped into the house. We must always practise that for hygiene purpose, especially with the recent health scare, H1N1. Gentle reminder to all; please wash your hands if it is dirty even if you are “outside” of the house!

It has now become a "regime" for me. After putting my shoes in the cabinet, I will run to the kitchen, up on my small chair and shout for Papa and Mimi to help me to wash my hands with soap! I will play my part by rubbing my hands. :P

Mimi said this is especially relevant to toddlers like me; who may occasionally unintentionally put our fingers into our mouth. Mimi always have a “instant sanitizer” in my bag in case we need it.

One more important thing… dry your hands after you wash it!

Qi's Favourite Ice-cream Time!

Took a sip of water while waiting patiently for our food! Deep in thoughts… which flavour of ice-cream should I take?

I cannot wait but help myself to the fries!

Fries go best with ketchup!

Yeah! My mango kid sundae!

Shiok! Took a spoonful of Mimi’s favourite; Nutty Chocolate!

A… what is this huh? We chanced upon it at a fair @ Compass Point. Papa says it’s a trishaw and it was one of the early modes of transport in Singapore decades ago.

“Swinging” Qi!

Mimi was so surprised to see me balancing myself on the bars! She did not teach me that! Hmm.. Papa wonders where did I learn it from? :p

Agile Qi “swinging” on the bar!

“Guan Yin Ma” Birthday!

It was an important occasion last Sunday. It was “Guan Yin Ma” birthday, 19th of June'09 @ Lunar Calendar. We went to temple located in Eunos area (102 Changi Road) to pray for good health. The temple was celebrating “Guan Yin Ma” birthday with rituals and ceremonies. Papa told me that he has been going to the temple, “Li Teck Chuan Cin Tong “which propagate the ethics of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, since he was a toddler.

Papa has fond memories of Ah Zuo who will always bring him along to pray at the temple. They went through the ceremony of “standing up followed by on the knees” praying to the deities together. Ah Zuo pray to Confucius, one of the three main deities in the temple for blessing for Papa, Gugu and Shushu to do well in their studies. Papa told me that Ah Zuo always bring him along on her trips if she could.

Papa has registered himself as member of the temple to “continue” Ah Zuo’s membership and association with the temple. Papa told Mimi that he will always think of Ah Zuo when he steps into the temple. He still misses Ah Zuo a lot.

We went to the “Guan Yin Ma” temple at Waterloo Street to pray for blessings too. It was so crowded that Mimi could not go into the temple to pray. Papa managed to “squeeze” in the human crowd to pray for the family.

Yummy..yummy desserts! Papa & Mimi favourite desserts at the favourite "Ah Kun dessert" in Liang Seah Street (opposite Bugis Junction)! Papa likes almond paste (white) and Mimi likes black sesame paste (black). Can I have a try?

My little moustache after taking the black sesame paste!

My lovely snap with my dearest Mimi!
We went to Xuan Jie house @ Tiong Bahru in the evening, hoping to catch the national day fireworks! We managed to see the helicopters “flying past” with the National flag at close distance. However, we only managed to see only few glimpses of the fireworks from the top floor of the building. :(

Catching Up With Papa's Ex-Students!

We went for dinner at Auntie Molly’s house about three weeks ago. Papa was so happy to see Auntie Molly, Vanessa Jiejie and Marcus Gorgor whom he has not seen for a few years. Aunite Molly is now based in Mumbai and Vanessa Jiejie is in Canada.

Papa coached Vanessa Jiejie, Timothy Gorgor (Vanessa’s younger brother) and Marcus Gorgor (Vanessa & Timothy’s cousin) in their mathematics during their secondary school. They kept in close contact and we have since become family friends.

I love jumping!

Yeah! I have Natalie jiejie to help me!

Our happy group snap!
Papa was very happy to see grandma, Vanessa’s paternal grandma again! She is already in her eighties but she is still full of energy. She is a very amicable and kind grandma. She reminds him of Ah Zuo. Papa calls her grandma.

Good Chinese DVD Songs!

Recently, Qi really like to watch the Wink & Learn Chinese songs DVD that Papa bought recently. It has catchy Chinese children songs with Chinese words flash cards and real life videos taken in Singapore. I love to dance as I watch and insist that Papa dance with me together. :P

Xuan jie also likes it a lot. Hence, Papa decided to get two latest two new additions from Wink & Learn. You can check the website for more details:

My First Day @ School!

Papa was on leave on Monday to bring me to school. My class starts at 9a.m. and is about 10 minutes walk from our house. Mimi woke Papa up at 7:30a.m. before she went to work.

Guess what! Ah Ma reached our house at 8:30a.m. Both Papa and I were sleeping soundly on the bed. It was a mad rush and it was made worse with me refusing to have my milk. Papa realized that I had my milk at 6:30a.m after Mimi told him. Luckily, we were still on time for the class. :P

Papa was skeptical if I were able to be in the class “alone”. I did not disappoint Papa! I went into the classroom after Papa assured me that he will wait for me outside the classroom. There were toys in the classroom to “keep me busy”. Though Papa could hear me calling “Papa” occasionally in the classroom, my teacher managed to pacify me by assuring me that Papa was outside the classroom.

Papa told me that he is so proud of me! Hehe…
Mimi said that my previous weekly enrichment classes that I attended since I was about 11 months old till last month, may have helped me to assimilate to the class environment.

One good new to share with all! :) My Papa finished his last examination paper for his MBA. He was feeling tense this week before the announcement of the results. He is so happy! The last hurdle is only his thesis. He is progressing well and hopes to submit it my middle of next month.

Papa told Mimi that he found it really hard to focus in his studies especially in the recent 1-2 years with me, Ah Qi, demanding so much of their time and energy. It is challenging to juggle family, career and studies for the 2.5 years. Yeah! Papa can have “full-time” attention for Mimi and Qi soon. Hang on Papa!

Papa! Where are you? I have finished my class…

I was still felling sleepy and tired. Papa had woke up from my beauty sleep hastily this morning. Papa! Can you help me to carry my "Hello Kitty" bag?

Donut Time!

It’s Mimi and my favourite “JCO donut” time! Yummy… yummy… awesome! Taking my pick! Can I have all six of them to myself? :P

video

Japanese Food Time!

I just woke up from my nap during our shopping trip. Yawn… I was still feeling tired! We went to Ichicban restaurant last weekend to satisfy Papa’s “fix” for sushi and salmon.

Which set should I choose? Hmm... scratching my head. Papa said I am still too young to order the kiddy set because I will not be able to finish the food. He promised me that he will order the “aeroplane set” with my favourite Yakult when I am older. Yeah! It’s a deal.

Let me try my favourite chawanmushi!

Let me put some sauce on the tempura before we try it.

Not forgetting the yummy avocado hand roll!

Qi is 23 Months Old Now!

Yeah! I am 23 Months Old today! One more month to go before my 2 years old birthday! Papa and Mimi have started to plan for my birthday celebrations next month. Most importantly, I am very glad that Papa’s business trip to Germany which was originally scheduled to fall on my birthday has been postponed. Cheers… My birthday falls on a weekday this year. Papa and Mimi have promised me that they will be on annual leave to celebrate my birthday!

A little update of my growing story…

I am definitely more inquisitive and more expressive in recent months. Papa was taken aback yesterday when I pulled him by the hand and point to the DVDs on the shelves in Popular bookstore, shouting “Papa come! Papa buy! Papa buy!.” Hehe..

My daily typical regime begins with waking up about 8 a.m. in the morning. My Ah Ma will ensure that I have my daily 30 minutes cartoon “fix” after my milk and “bits of bread and cheese”. I will “roam” around the house, going up and down the sofa, climbing up the dinner bench while Ah Ma has breakfast and lunch, “ransacking” and playing with my toys, flipping through my books and looking at the pictures, tease with Ah Ma etc before I go for my nap in the late morning.

After shower at noon, it’s yummy time! Ah ma will prepare “ai xin” porridge with ingredients such as salmon and vegetables that my Mimi prepares every morning by 6:30a.m. before she dress up for work.

I will continue my play session and 30 minutes cartoon with what Ah Ma says; "never tired" spirit till the late afternoon before I have another short nap. Ah Ma will always insist that I take my naps because it is good for the brain development for growing kids like me. In the meanwhile, Ah Ma can also catch a breather. Hehe…

I look forward to evening time because Papa and Mimi will be home! For most nights on the weekdays, I can eat Mimi's "ai xin" home cooked dinner. After a quick shower in the evening, it’s bonding time with Papa and Mimi.

Before that, I will never forget to request for my favourite Yakult. I will pull Papa to the refrigerator and say: “Papa! Yakult! Straw!” Papa promised me that I will have it after my shower every evening. I enjoy my daily reading night session with Papa and Mimi. Qi will say: “Papa read! Mimi read!” I will sit on their laps and listen to them while they read to me. I was on the “flash cards” since I was about a year old. However, we have stopped recently and Papa hopes to “catch the momentum back” for me.

Recently, I will insist that both Papa and Mimi sleep together with me while I try to get into my dreamland. Qi will say: “Papa sleeps. Mimi sleeps. Qiqi sleeps. Papa pat, Mimi pat”. Since I was a baby, I love Papa or Mimi to “pat” my body to coax me to sleep. I will melt Papa and Mimi’s hearts by giving them good night kisses on their cheeks (without them asking and I will insist). Muack... :*

I love weekend! This is because Papa and Mimi will always bring me to our grandparents’ house where I can play with my favourite Xuan Jie, Didi and Gorgors, shopping trips and meeting up with friends.

Papa noticed that I “wail at lot” recently to “get things the way I want”. Papa has adopted the soft approach by trying to explain the rationale to me now. Papa has warned that he is keeping a close watch and will “wack” me if required. :P Papa, I will hide behind Ah Gong’s and you cannot catch me!

I am going to school! I will attend the playgroup for toddlers between 18 months and 36 months old tomorrow. It will be my first day of school tomorrow. Papa has been asking me: “Do you want to go to school?” and I will reply “Yes!” Hehe… I overheard Papa telling Mimi that he is keeping his fingers cross because my previous enrichment classes that I have attended are always with the companion of Papa or Mimi. For the playgroup, I will be alone for 2 hours ableit in the company of teachers and friends. LOL! I will keep you guys posted. Have a great week ahead!

Cheers
Qi with Love

I Got New Shoes!

Yeah..after looking around for a few weekend, Papa and Mimi found a new pair of new shoes for me! Mimi likes it because the shoes have good rubber soles and is “soft”. Papa said it is “dirt resistant” because it is black in colour. Hehe…

Are my new shoes nice?

Can we put my old shoes in the box and bring it home?
A close look at my new shoes! :0)

Ah Ma’s Birthday!

Happy Birthday Ah Ma! “Cake-blowing’ session with my Ah Ma @ her birthday last Thursday, 23 July’09! My Ah Ma takes good care of me while Papa and Mimi are at work. She is a nice Ah Ma! She travels to our house at Seng Kang every morning and goes home every evening after Papa and Mimi are home.

Qi trying to help Ah Ma, to blow the cake. Ableit I have to try harder. LOL!
