My signature cheeky smile!
I am a 18 months old today! Papa & Mama observed that toddlers’s growth development spurs after we hit 1 year old!
Talking and Comprehending Papa noticed that I am picking up and saying more words… or rather I blabber. I am also able to read aloud when Papa showed me some words. Sometimes, I will also take the initiative e.g. identify and pointing to the cups and forks at J.Co café, shout “toys” when I step into a department store. Hehe.. my vocabulary is still limited… maybe about 50 words. Hehe…
At times, I pretended not to understand when Papa gave me specific instructions. :P Hehee… apparently, Mummy observed that I am able to comprehend more instructions such as “please go to the room and take the bottle”, “please take the keys from the sofa” etc. Papa & Mummy are enjoying the “blabbering” growing stage!
Story Book Reading & DrawingsI like to say “knock knock” at times when Papa and Mummy read to me. Mummy will reply and say; Grandma! Are you home? This is little red riding hood.” Papa and Mummy read to me everyday to encourage me to pick up the good habit of reading.
I have also started learning "drawings” (rather scribble) with Mummy’s help!
Inquisitive!Like any toddlers, I am inquisitive and like to touch and feel anything that comes to my attention. Nowadays, Mummy complained that going shopping has become a chore. The next thing she know; I am grabbing something or is away from her sight. Hehe… Mummy’s challenge is to allow me to explore freely and yet not to hurt myself.
Mummy believes that I should be allow to explore and be curcious.
Good Cop and Bad CopI like Mummy because she is the good cop! But I do not like Papa at times because he is the bad cop. Papa and Mummy will always try to explain the reasons and rationale to me of my actions after they reprimand or “beat me”. Papa is a disciplinarian and he strongly believes the approach will groom me with proper values and principles. This is especially imperative because Papa realized that as I approach my “Naughty 2”, I have tried to test the limit. However, he is firm and insists the “right thing”. E.g. sometimes, I refuse and walk away when asked to keep the toys. He will “drag” me back literally and insists that I put the toys back to its proper place.
Mummy is my good cop and protects me. Hehe…I also have Ah Gong (paternal grandfather) aka my “mountain” because I always go to him for help when I am in trouble. See I do know who to go too!
Watching DVDI simply love “wheels on the Bus” cartoons. Nowsdays, I will pull Papa by his hand near to the TV and say “Bus bus” when I need to satisfy my urge! I will even push my Ikea chair to my favourite position near the TV and seek Papa’s help to sit in the chair. I have to “buckle” up the seat belt myself before Papa will switch the cartoon. Beep Beep! However, Papa insists that I could only watch 2 espiodes a day of 20 minutes a day and he will try to alternate it with “Baby can Read” and “Baby Einstein series”.
At times, when Papa refused, I will sneak near to the DVD player and switch it on myself! I learnt it after I observed Papa doing it once when he could not find the remote control. Hehe… but sob sob.. the next thing I know is “Ah Qi! What are you doing?” and the player will be switched off.
