New Clothes for Chinese New Year.

We are not celebrating Chinese New Year this year because we just lost our beloved Ah Zuo. Papa and Mama told me that it feels so different this year and no one in our family has the festive mood. However, Papa and Mama have got new clothes for me because it is a tradition for children to wear new clothes during Chinese New Year.

Shopping trip; do I look nice in the “Croc shoes”? It’s too big for me though it is the smallest size. Too bad… let me continue to enjoy my favourite "Wheels on the Bus"!

My “Pinky Maomao” dress! Mama also got me a small red bag from the same shop. This is because I kept asking for “bag bag” before I leave the house for shopping trips recently. It’s a girl thingy and Papa cannot believe that you have to pay $20 for such a tiny bag! Here he goes again… my Accountant Papa!

A cute cute "gymboree" dress that Mama bought it through an on-line spree.

A sweet dress from Essa Jiejie, Danny shushu’s girlfriend! Shushu complained to Papa that he was "stuck" in the jam for 1 hour in Orchard Road; just to get the dress for me. Thankie lei.. Essa jiejie and Danny shushu for the pretty dress! :0)

My new pajamas from Mothercare! Papa said that I could even wear it for shopping trips because the designs are nice. I could hear Mama yelling: “Please lah Papa!” (Mama told Papa that she likes to buy stuff for me from Mothercare because it offers good quality products)

A cute "Pinky Poko dots" top with white long pants.

I like the small flowers on the white top.

My First Art Piece!

Taking a sip of water before I start my class! Mama would love to take snaps of me during class. However, it is not allowed by the school because it might affect our concentration in class.

Yeah! I got my first art piece! One and only by Enqi! Can you see my name on the top left hand corner? Isn’t it awesome? I did it “by blowing bubbles” with Mama’s help! :P

A bag from the school to keep my master piece!

I need a good dinner! We decided to go to Sizzler for dinner because Mama enjoys the wide spread of salad buffet that comes with the main course.

Sizzler even has colourful plastic utensils for toddlers like me!

Wow.. yummy yummy! Look at all the good food!

After a long day, it’s home sweet home! Running home with my school bag; shouting "bag bag"! :P

Happy & Lovely Girl!

I am an active girl! Hehe… I love attention! My Ah Ma (paternity grandma) who takes care of me during the day complained that she cannot have a moment of peace when I am awake. I will be busy “roaming”, “climbing” and “ransacking” the house. The only time she could have some peace is during my nap, meal time and my favourite “VDC/DVD time”. Ah Ma insists that I could only enjoy my meal or watch my program if I sit on the chair. Some basic discipline; it has also become a habit for me now too.

I am a little girl at heart who knows how to melt my love ones heart! I will “hug” and “kiss with a loud smooch” on the cheeks to my loved ones when asked to! Hehe…

I gave a loud smooch to Kelvin Xiaoshushu yesterday to his surprise! Hmm… I am a sweet girl right? :P

Sometimes, I will even “drag” Papa by his hand from the bedroom to the living room and request to watch my favourite DVD. I will murmur “Bus”!

My new collections of “Wheels on the Bus” & "Pooh Bear & Friends Adventure"! It is very nice with themes such as “Twinkle Twinkle Little Time”, “Humpty Dumpty” and “Mary has a little lamb”. Papa and Mama will ensure that I alternate it with educational programs such as Baby You can Read and Baby Einstein in my daily program.

I have also started on a daily intake of Scott’s Emulsion Cod Liver oil about three months ago. It contains vitamin A and D, plus DHA which is one of the life’s building blocks found in the brain and eye. Mama was really happy that I like it because she was worried that I may refuse to take it. Papa said: “Ee…its smell. It’s a thick slimmy paste with a medicated smell”. Papa, blah! I am taking it because it helps to strengthen my immune system.

Mama has also decided to start “Potty training” for me. Hmm… what is that? A nice Tweety bird chair? :P

My Mini Home Swimming Pool!

Can you remember the mini swimming pool that Mama bought for me a few months back?

Papa decided to fill up the pool with “water” instead of “balls” for me to have fun. He observed that I seem to have a phobia for water when I was at the water park in the zoo last weekend. Hmm... so he has decided to introduce fun@water to me!

I am ready in my swimming costume!

Hmm… look at how happy I am! I had a great time and seem to be less "wary of water"! Papa promised me that he will bring me to the “real swimming pool” soon.

ZOO!

We were at the Singapore zoo two weeks ago with Kelvin Xiaoshushu and Pauline Jiejie! It was fun though Mama observed that I do not seem to "really appreciate" the animals. :P Nevertheless, Mama felt that it was good to expose me to the animals and the nature.

Mama said we could pop by again when I am older!

Discipline!

Hihi everyone, how are you? Midweek blues? :P

Papa and Mama felt that they have not been “disciplined” enough to spend quality time such as reading, playing games with me. Hmm…Papa and Mama promised me that they will be more conscientious and set a good example for me to look up to.

I overheard Papa telling Mama that he felt bad “beating me up” yesterday for throwing tantrums. It was painful! Papa, do you know that? Sob sob… Papa explained to me the consequences of my actions after I have “cool down”. Hmm… Papa hope that I could understand though I am still a toddler!

Papa observed that I like to try tantrums and cry often to “get my way”. In addition, I will resist sleeping at my regular timing @ 10pm at times.

Mama has been trying to “psycho” me with “Five Minutes Method of Suggestion” (advice from Aunty Emily who has learnt it from a parenting workshop) since beginning of this week.

"During the first 5 minutes after a child has fallen asleep, the conscious mind goes to sleep, but the subconscious mind is still awake and functioning. We need to make use of these 5 minutes to work on the subconscious mind. During these 5 minutes, we can express our wishes by softly whispering into our children's ears, when they have just fallen asleep."

Papa had used it successfully a few months back to help me wean off my pacifier. Hopes it works again!

Hang on, weekend is around the corner!

Taking a lazy break on the cushy sofa after “ransacking” my favourite toy store; Toy ‘R” Us. :P

"Pocky Babes!"

Busy munching "sticks" while on my way for my weekly weekend class at GUG!

Two babes enjoying their favourite Pocky sticks!

Qi "Driving" a Plane!

Last week, our plan to go to the East Coast beach was foiled because of the rain. I have even brought my “beach set” of pail, spade etc. Sob Sob.. :(

Mama assured me that we will try to go again before Chinese New Year.

We went to Parkway Parade Shopping Centre instead to satisfy Mama’s obsession for Anderson’s ice-cream. Yummy yummy!

Taking a break! Qi navaigating a "Spiderman fighter plane"!

My signature cheeky smile!

I Am Attending GUG Class!

Hihi everyone, how are you? Cheer up! Weekend is round the corner!

I will complete my music lessons at Gymboree soon. Papa & Mama have decided to send me for other enrichment class to “keep me occupied”. :P

Last Sunday, I attended a trial lesson at “Growing-Up-Gifted (“GUG”) @ Novena Square. The “Gifted Babes” program is meant for babies / toddlers aged 8 to 18 months that aims to enhance brain development, we present children with stimulating objects, prints, sounds, colours and textures to motivate exploration with their 5 senses, and to promote early speech and language skills. The class size is capped to a maximum of 12 toddlers with 2 teachers.

Papa felt the fees to be quite steep at about $50 per session for 1.5hr weekly class though it is “similar to fees of other similar schools such as Julia Gabriel”.

Most importantly, Papa & Mama observed that I enjoyed the lesson and decided to sign up. Yeah! I will continue the weekly lesson at its new school at Suntec City .

Waiting patiently outside the classroom for lesson to start!

GUG Parent Guide! Papa & Mama, make sure you read it! :P

Enjoying my feast of donuts after lesson! Which one should I take? Mama, can I take all of them?

Let my try this first!

Papa bought some educational games for me to play too!

Papa & Mama Are Together for 10 Years Already!

Today is a very special day; 10 years ago on 2 Jan 1999, Papa and Mama became a couple on this special day. 10 years later; they have tied the knot, have a small family with ME adding to the joy to their story. Hehe... :o)

I overheard Papa whispered to Mama that he loves Mama as much if not even more now. Shy Shy Papa! Hmm... how about Mama? She said "action speaks louder" for her towards Papa.

I am offically a 16 month old walking toddler today too. I can even eat "independently" now! :P

Papa & Mama @ about 10 years ago.
