I am a 27 Months Old Toddler Now!

Yeah! My growing up story @ 27 months old!

I am definitely more expressive in recent months, expressing my likes and dislikes. :P At times, I will throw tantrums in an attempt to try to get things that I want. However, I will squeak like a mouse whenever I see Papa brings out “Mr. Cane” if I “hit” the limit of his tolerance level.

I am able to speak more two-three words sentence in my conversations. Papa and Mimi are trying to work on my Mandarin because I seem to only speak English (though I understand Mandarin). They are trying to use more Mandarin with me in daily conversation to build up my vocabulary and pronunciation.

One of my favourite activities in recent months is playing with puzzle. Can you remember that we bought some small puzzles (or rather small cards that you have to put them together) a few months back and the puzzles that I received for my presents? I enjoy playing with it and could recognize most of the pictures (still need some help for the words). Every night, I will pull Papa or Mimi by the hand to my room, choose my puzzle and request Papa or Mimi to sit with me to play the puzzle. I like to “piece” the together and put them aside.

My new collection of more puzzles and books over the last weekend at Popular Bookstore @ Bras Basah. Papa and Mimi had intentionally included more Chinese materials in the purchase.

I also enjoy “colouring” in recent weeks. I will get very excited whenever Mimi pass me sheets of cartoon characters like Dora, Mickey Mouse etc. I will pick up my box of crayons and start colouring. Hehe…

Few of my master pieces… Available for sale! :P

Papa has signed up for me to attend Speech and Drama class at Lorna Whinston Speech & Drama School at Novena Square from next year Jan’10 onwards. It will be a 1hour class every Saturday afternoon. The program includes a wealth of oral activities using drama, phonics, enacted stories, rhymes and songs to deliver meaningful and interactive experiences for young toddlers like me. I am looking forward to it. Papa and Mimi hope that the program will help me to be more vocal, expressive and outgoing, building my “people skills”.

I am 75% potty-trained now. Mimi tried to potty train me after I was about 1.5 years old shortly with no success. I was put on the regime about 1 month ago again. I am a good girl; I will shout for “shi shi” whenever I need to wee. Even when I am on diaper before sleep, I will request to use the potty if I have not fall asleep. Of course, there was small “accidents” when I wee on my pants. Hehe…Papa, Mimi and Ah Ma have to constantly remind me; “Qi, do you want to shi-shi?” initially. Even now, they will remind me if they notice that I have not wee for an extended period. I will also need still to work on my “poo poo instinct” and tell Papa and Mimi whenever I need “poo poo”.

I am still on diaper during sleep and when I am out of the house. Mimi told me that she will help me to use the toilet with the “toddler seat” in about 1-2months time so that I could be “diaper-free” when I am out of the house. Just a joke, Mimi complained to Papa that I prefer to use the $5 traditional potty rather than the $35 potty that she have bought.
